Thanksgiving and Veterans Day

 I didn't make a Veterans Day post because some things still hurt. Lots of friends who are no longer here. So, on Thanksgiving, I chose to move past this hurt and combine Veterans Day with my Thanksgiving post. Americans celebrate many things on Thanksgiving. Some are traditionalists and celebrate with the original idea in mind. Others just love the food and football on TV. Still, others celebrate a renewal of their life and the small victories in life and milestones they have overcome. The older I get, the more I become the latter. This year, I am Thankful for all my military friends, those who are no longer around, and those who continue to fight the personal battles and survive. I'm thankful for all the memories I have of that period in my life, both good and bad. The teaching moments, the fun we had, and all the jokes between us. I'm thankful for the places I traveled to and the world events I unwittingly participated in over the years. I am very grateful for the friend...
